JMU 31 Troy 14

Troy continues to defy odds holding JMU to only 93 passing yards helping to cover the -23.5 point spread in loss to JMU. While Troy restricted flight JMUs offense made up with the ground game, Wayne Knight with 21 carries for 212 yards averaging 10.2 yards a carry and a 73 yard touchdown on the 1st play of JMUs first 2nd quarter drive. Defense was the star of the 1st quarter with 7 drives resulting in punts. The Trojans are still bowl game eligible. JMU awaits the result of Duke v. Virginia game, a Duke loss would help JMU secure the G5 spot.

Tulane 34 UNT 21

Tulane took advantage of multiple North Texas turnovers resulting in an outright 34-21 victory over the Mean Green. Both teams struggled on 3rd down conversions, Tulane’s overall consistency and ability to create big plays on both sides of the ball resulted in the Green Wave taking home the American Conference title. Tulane’s Jake Retzlaff going 13/22 and a QBR of 76.9 helped secure Tulane’s projected G5 playoff spot.
