#6 Ole Miss v. #11 Tulane

By John Brown Dec-10-2025

Line: -17.5 Ole Miss

Going to Oxford, Mississippi, unlike Lane Kiffin (all I’ll say about that dude) Ole Miss v. Tulane will be taking place for the 75th time. This is actually Ole Miss’s oldest rivalry and Tulane’s second oldest rivalry, these teams have gone at it since 1893. The same year Mahatma Ghandi arrived in South Africa and Edvard Munch created the first version of “The Scream”.

Ole Miss has a record of 44-29 against the Green Wave. “The Rolling Green Wave” name originated in 1920, the original mascot was a surfboard-riding pelican.

Ole Miss is 11-1 only losing to a dominant Georgia team. Tulane with an 11-2 record with losses at UT San Antonio and Ole Miss. Both teams have lost their head coaches going into the playoffs, odd spot to hop off if you ask me.

Tulane’s most recent 34-21 win against North Texas for the American Championship, and Ole Miss coming off a 38-19 rivalry weekend victory at 5-7 Mississippi State. Where Trinidad Chambliss went absolutely balanced, going 23/34 for 359 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions. The Rebels smoked the spread of -7.5, they have done so 5 times this year. Running Back Kewan Lacy was a work horse against state with 27 carries for 146 yards, his longest being a 31 yard touchdown on the 1st drive of the game. He’ll be a factor against Tulane as they’ve allowed 405.7 yards a game and 26.2 ppg.

Tulane’s Jake Retzlaff gained a total of 194 yards and a QBR of 76.9 against North Texas. Jamauri McClure carried 22 times for 121 yards and a touchdown, his longest gain being 30 yards.

Ole Miss ranks 24th nationally in defense, allowing 20ppg and averaging 2.6 sacks per game.

My Predictions:

Other than the history there’s not much else to say about this game. Ole Miss is rested so they should stay rested no different than Oregon. I think Ole Miss runs the same game plan score it up and put in the backups.
