Line: Indiana -7

I’m most intrigued by this game out of the other matchups going into the 2nd round, Alabama gets the opportunity to knock off #1 Indiana after a 34-24 comeback win against a formidable Oklahoma Defense. Ty Simpson led Alabamas comeback in the 2nd half after being down 17 in the 2nd quarter, Simpson went 18/29 for 232 yards and 2 touchdowns. I still wonder if Alabama has their stuff together to put up a fight against Indiana?

Indiana is well rested after their 13-10 Big Ten Championship win over then #1 Ohio State back on December 6th, under Cignetti, Indiana makes very few mistakes as a factor of their discipline. Heisman winner Fernando Mendoza will have his work cut out for him against a 10th ranked Alabama passing defense, Alabama has 11 interceptions on the season and has allowed an average of only 168.7 yards a game.

With Indiana’s spread RPO offense having the ability to move the ball on the ground just as well as the air, Ranking among the highest in the nation with 220 yards on average, Alabamas notoriously weak run defense will be tested.

My Predictions:

Alabama has shown recent improvements giving me the belief that they’ll make it hard for Indiana to move on to the next round. Hard to say what Indiana truly looks like in the playoffs as the Big Ten Championship Game did not effect the Hoosiers from getting into the playoffs win or lose just like Ohio State, I don’t believe all the cards have been shown by Cignetti.
