Per sources Utah Head Coach of 20 years Kyle Whittingham is now the main target for Michigan as of this morning. Michigan has been turned down or rumors have been put to rest by Kalen Deboar and Kenny Dillingham.

Whittingham has a total of 30+ years coaching at Utah, 10 years as defensive coordinator and 20 as head coach, along with some position coaching. With a record of 177 wins and 88 loses, Wittingham is Utah’s winningest coach holding the most wins in Utah history. Notable NFL talent that played under Wittingham are quarterback Alex Smith, Cornerback Sean Smith, and hall of fame bound safety Eric Weddle of the Ravens. Utah went undefeated in 2008 and defeated Alabama 31-17 in The Sugar Bowl.

Following Utah’s Las Vegas Bowl Game against Nebraska this year, Whittingham we’ll be a “free agent” as he made it public that he’ll be stepping down from Utah’s head coach position back on December 12th. Wittingham has the ability to develop players, this will come in handy for Michigan as talent leaves due to recent scandals.
