Post AB fiasco, the Red Sox have acquired left hand pitcher Ranger Suárez out of free agency for a reported 5 years $130 million no deferrals.

Coming off 8 seasons with the Phillies and his best season being in 2025, where Suárez pitched 157.1 innings for an ERA of 3.20 and 151 strikeouts. With six pitches up his sleeve he creates a lot of weak contact and grounders emphasizing the need for a strong infield presence. 2025’s pitch usage shows a 90mph sinker thrown 28.5% of the time and then rotates a 79mph changeup 19.1% of the time and a 91mph four seam for 14.7%.

Suárez has a 1.48 ERA across 42.2 postseason innings which will hopefully extend October baseball for the Sox.
