Game 1: Opening Day Thursday March 26th 4:10pm

Opening day/series was set in Cincinnati, The War Pig, Garret Crochet threw 6 scoreless innings allowing only 3 hits and shoving for 8 K’s. Crochet finished with a 0.83 whip after evading a bases loaded situation in the 6th.

• 2B Marcelo Mayer went 2-2 at pinch hitter

• SS Trevor Story, DH Jaren Duran, and CF Ceddanne Rafaela all had an RBI

The Roman Empire continues to reign, Anthony went 3-4 and overturned a full count strike 3 call in the 9th inning that allowed 2 insurance runs as the Sox were already up 1-0, Boston went into the bottom of the 9th up 3-0 with Chappy on the mound to close out the first win of the Boston Red Sox season.

Game 2: Saturday March 28th 4:10pm

The Sox were 1-1 through Saturday as the Reds were able to get their bats moving, a terrible check swing call call by CB Buckner results in Alex Cora’s ejection in the 8th.

• Sonny Gray allowed 4 runs (3 earned) in 4 innings

• Reds Sal Stewart and Elly De La Cruz both hit solo homers

The Red Sox 1st homer belongs to Trevor Story, Wilyer Abreu goes deep in the 9th to tie it 5-5.

Reds prevail 6-5.

Game 3: Sunday March 29th 1:40pm

Reds win the series

• Connelly Early had a great start 5.1 innings pitched, 6 strikeouts 1 earned run, 2 walks thru 96 pitches

• Greg Weisert let up 2 runs in the 6th

• Wilyer Abreu homered in the 4th

Reds take it 3-2
